SoloRack vs Macly: a newer Mac mini, VAT included
SoloRack and Macly both rent a dedicated Mac mini. Compare day, week and month prices, the chip, renewals, data at the end and support.
Macly and SoloRack both rent you a whole Mac mini in a datacenter, not a slice of a shared virtual machine. You get full admin rights, a remote desktop and SSH with either one. The differences are in the price of a short rental, the chip inside, and what happens around renewals and the end of a rental.
The short version
- A published weekly price. A 24-hour pass is $19 and a 7-day pass is $49, VAT included where it applies. Macly advertises daily plans from $14.99 plus tax and doesn’t publish a weekly price. By the month, it’s $112 with us and $119.99 plus tax at Macly.
- A newer chip. Our Mac mini runs Apple M6 with a 12-core CPU. Macly’s plan is a Mac mini M4 with a 10-core CPU. Both come with 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD.
- VAT already included. Our prices include VAT where it applies. Macly’s Billing Policy says its prices exclude sales tax and VAT.
- Warnings before anything changes. We email you 3 days and 1 day before each renewal. If a payment fails, you have 24 hours to fix it, with your Mac untouched and still reachable.

What you pay for a day, a week and a month
Signing a build or uploading to App Store Connect takes a day or a week, not a year. Here is how the two price lists compare.
A day. Our 24-hour pass costs $19, VAT included where it applies, on a Mac mini M6, and comes with our step-by-step guide to publishing on the App Store. Macly advertises daily plans from $14.99 plus tax, on a Mac mini M4. The plan selector on its pricing page offers monthly and yearly billing only. The page also says individual orders are temporarily unavailable while Macly focuses on bulk orders of 10 or more devices.
A week. Our 7-day pass costs $49. Macly’s FAQ describes weekly billing, but its site doesn’t list a weekly price, so we can’t put the two side by side.
A month. We charge $112, and you can cancel anytime in the Stripe customer portal. Macly’s monthly plan is $119.99. Its Billing Policy says prices exclude sales tax and VAT, which are worked out from your billing address. Ours already include VAT where it applies, so the total at checkout matches the price on our site. Businesses can add their VAT number at checkout.
A year. On a full year, Macly comes out cheaper. Its yearly option is shown as $2.74 a day before tax. Our monthly plan works out at about $3.68 a day. If you know you’ll need a Mac for twelve months and Macly is taking orders, its yearly rate is the lower one.
The Mac you get
Both services rent you a whole physical Mac mini that nobody else uses while it’s yours. Both give you full admin rights, so you can install Homebrew and any toolchain your project needs.
The difference is the chip generation. We rent the Mac mini M6: Apple M6, a 12-core CPU, 16 GB of memory, a 256 GB SSD and a 1 Gbit/s network link. Macly’s plan is the Mac mini M4 with a 10-core CPU, 16 GB and 256 GB. Its FAQ also lists bigger M4 Pro and M4 Max machines, and its pricing page asks you to get in touch to check whether they’re available.
You install Xcode yourself and sign in with your own Apple Account. Your certificates, provisioning profiles and App Store Connect access stay tied to your own account.
Our Macs run in an EU datacenter. The Macly pages we checked don’t say where its machines are hosted, which matters if your code needs to stay in the EU.
Renewals, failed payments and your data
A rental should never end by surprise. Before a monthly renewal, we email you 3 days and 1 day ahead. On a 24-hour or 7-day pass, we remind you 2 hours and again 30 minutes before it ends, so you can extend the pass or save your work.
If a payment fails, you get an email with a link to update your card, and 24 hours to fix it, with your Mac exactly as you left it and still reachable. If it isn’t fixed by then, the rental ends and we cancel the subscription, so you aren’t charged again. Our reminders tell you that everything on the Mac is deleted when the rental ends, so you can download your files and export your signing certificates first. Within minutes of the end, your macOS account and all your files are deleted. We keep no backup or copy, so we cannot get them back, and the whole Mac is erased before the next customer. We never wipe a Mac without warning.
Macly’s Billing Policy says monthly subscriptions renew automatically and that you can switch off auto-renewal in your account settings. It doesn’t mention reminders before a renewal. A failed payment is retried within 24 hours, you’re told by email, and service may be suspended after three failed attempts in a row. Its Billing Policy says data is kept for 30 days after cancellation and then permanently deleted. Its Terms of Service say you’re responsible for backing up your important data. So the two work in opposite ways: Macly keeps your data for 30 days after you cancel, and we keep no copy once a rental ends.
Support, languages and getting started from Windows
Our support is by email, answered by people, not a bot. You can write to us in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Turkish or Arabic.
Macly’s FAQ says every plan includes 24/7 technical support by live chat and email. Its website is available in eight languages, but its pages don’t say which languages support works in.
You don’t need a Mac to rent one. With SoloRack you connect from Windows, macOS or Linux with a remote desktop app, and SSH is ready for the terminal. A first session for a Flutter or React Native developer usually looks like this: connect, sign in to your Apple Account, install Xcode, clone your repository, open the iOS project and archive it. Macly also works from Windows. Its FAQ lists a browser portal, AnyDesk and DeskIn.
Who Macly suits
Macly is an option if you want round-the-clock live chat, larger M4 Pro or M4 Max machines, a yearly rate, or your data kept for 30 days after you cancel. Its pricing page says it’s currently focusing on bulk orders of 10 or more machines.
